Sho me your toad!

Today was a sad but exciting day.  Knowing my current 2013 Ford Taurus SHO wasn’t something I wanted to be driving around a campground often (given the expensive tires, low clearance), and knowing it can’t be towed four down (without a trailer) without much investment, I decided to look around for RV friendly vehicles.

I test drove a few different vehicles before ultimately settling on a Honda CR-V.  It has low mileage, and feels pretty comfortable to drive, so I took the plunge, and bought it today!  This will allow me to hook this up to the RV, and tow the vehicle behind on my trips.  In the RV community, the towed vehicle is referred to as a “toad” or “towed”.

I’ll need to find a place who can perform the work, set the brakes to be integrated to the RV, but that will come in time.

For now, it’s time to say goodbye to the fun Taurus SHO – what fun that has been to drive.  I’ve had lots of people stop me to compliment it and the pick up in the vehicle is amazing.  But, unfortunately, it’s not practical for now.

Once I get the CR-V hooked up, I’ll be sure to add a new post on the process.

Here are a few pictures of the new CR-V!
