Another day, another move! Today, after spending the last 20 days in Fair Play, SC, I moved (successfully!) to Advance, NC. I thoroughly enjoyed the last few weeks in Fair Play and actually got to meet a really nice couple from Virginia. In fact, it turns out we may be crossing paths and being at another campground the same time in a few weeks. We exchanged contact information and hope to meet up.
This move was a bit different than my last move as I’m now officially loaded up with all my belongings, clothes, dishes, and work stuff! I also loaded up the waste, gas, lp propane, and fresh water tanks so I would be fully loaded. Funny to learn that 75 gallons of fuel is over 455 pounds! Oh, and my 100 gallon fresh water supply is another 834 pounds!
Speaking of weight, I wanted to have everything weighed down as there is a CAT Scale right outside of the campground, so it was a perfect opportunity to stop and get weighed. I really wished I would have weighed before loading everything up, but for now I just need to trust the labels in the RV for weights. It was interesting getting the RV weighed – you drive up on the scale, push a button (which ironically I was way too short, so I had to use the laundry drying rack’s leg!) and they ask if it is a re-weigh or a new weigh. Then, they ask for your truck number (which I just said RV) and then they tell you to come inside. $11 later and you get a slip, similar to the following:
Happy to report that per my labels inside the RV I’m within my weight limits, however, it shows I may want to do some rebalancing of the weight throughout the RV.
Departure:
We actually pulled out of the campsite around 10:25am and stopped at the Love’s Truck Stop for breakfast and to weigh the RV. Left Love’s about 11:15am and arrived to Forest Lake around 2:30pm.
I haven’t downloaded the dash cam footage yet, but I’ll get that shortly and add here.
