Earlier this week, the temperatures dropped as Hurricane Irma was making it known she had landed in the states. As it was quite cold and I had lots of work ahead of me, I joined a few calls and pumped out some work while outside, next to the fire!  It was extremely cozy and comfy!

Staying warm while enjoying work outside.

This week though at work, we have a big new product launch coming up and as part of that launch we are embedding some videos. Which means, I get to do some RVworking Videos!

This time however, the video background needs to be a bit more than the kitchen cabinets and interior lounge, so I ventured off to a few different places to film.

First up was Childress Vineyards.  Just a 6 mile drive down the road, I setup next to their cafe looking down on the vineyards.  The noise was a bit too loud from highway 64 trucker traffic and the wind was a bit intolerable.  On to the next location – the lake!

The lake at Thousand Trails Forest Lake in Advance, NC was picture perfect!   With the equipment on the bridge and the lake and cabins in the backdrop it made a perfect scene.  One problem though – the birds weren’t happy!  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get great audio without the birds sounding like fire alarms as one friend mentioned so, off to the third!

They say third time is a charm!  I found a quiet indoor spot, the Hairston Hall at Thousand Trails Forest Lake.  This is currently serving as the 18 and up adult lounge – somewhere quiet to get some work done, read, or watch tv.  Or, in my case…. film a few videos.  ????

The room was empty and off to setting up my equipment I went.  I recently bought a TelePrompter to help with keeping the video on pace – a much needed savior for my brain!

All was going well getting a few videos in when in walked someone with her laptop and cell phone to get some work done!  Oops!  I asked if she would mind if I were to finish a few more videos for work and she very politely agreed.  (I think she even silenced her phone, and once she didn’t take a call until she knew I wasn’t recording).

We spent the better part of the hour talking about life and work.  It was quite nice.  She even gave some feedback and helped with the video!

It is truley amazing the people you meet traveling who come from all different walks of life, different regions, and backgrounds.

Oh – and for a peek into today’s office….
