After now six weeks of mooch docking, I’m getting the jitters to get moving!  I didn’t buy a RV to park it in my parents driveway!  I’ve been forever grateful for the place to stay, park, shower, launder my clothes, and organize, I’m ready to get rolling!  I have made tons and tons of modifications and updates, maintenance, and learning, and the list goes on.  I have just a few more things to finish up, do some vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning, and then I hope to be on my way!

The weather is definitely starting to drop and get cold at night, but it hasn’t prevented me from ditching the RV lifestyle yet!  Thankfully the heat works, I have heated mattress pads, and heated blankets, and fans to keep the temperature just right.

Ok, enough of that!  Where am I going if I’m not going to be moochdocking?  Well, I finally was able to make some reservations through the end of the year, and into January.  I have all but one week planned out which I will need to find a place to camp at, but will do that closer to the week.

November 2017

  • Fair Play, SC
  • Charlotte, NC (but just by car for Thanksgiving)

December 2017

  • Georgia (somewhere!)
  • Alabama (weather permitting)
  • Wauchula, FL
  • Charlotte, NC (Christmas, wedding, and New Years!)

January 2018

  • Orlando, FL
  • Wauchula, FL

So, that’s the initial plan for now.  Depending on weather, I may go bounce between a few parks in Florida, but, hopefully I can start making my way through the southern states and over towards the West Coast!  Look for some updates soon and I’ll be sure to update the drivers log as I get rolling.

As always, if you have recommendations – definitely drop them below in the comments!

While in Florida, take some time to drive through the Keys. There are over 40 bridges between Miami and Key West and the views are amazing. Be sure to take a day or two to spend in each the upper, middle and lower Keys. People that just head to Key West are truly missing some amazing places and restaurants.

As you head West, as you’re heading to Alabama, make time to stop in Gulf Shores, Alabama, truly a hidden gem!

And make sure you’re back in NC in July for tubing!

Be well and be safe, brother… And have fun!

Really, another week here, do you need lessons on how to drive that thing? Or can we buy you a tank of gas? Two tanks?
