Today was a great day! I was able to go back to look at the RV and able to do a test drive. Yup, a test drive! First time ever driving a rig this size and honestly it wasn’t so bad. I drove it a short distance through some neighborhoods and then backed up the rig to complete a three point turn. The drivers seat was extremely comfortable. My first learning experience, and thankfully a non-eventful one, was when you drive something as large as this, with this much weight, the brakes most definitely take quite a bit longer to stop. I remember pushing on the brakes to test the stopping power, and surely my heart began to race as I learned I wasn’t coming close to stopping. This was only while doing probably 10 mph. A bit more pressure and further down on the brake pedal and there she was now at a complete and safe stop!
I’m sure there will be lots to learn on driving this but for now it was a big step in the right direction. Next up – Running to the bank and getting the money to pay it off and then finding out when to bring it home! (But the bigger question is where I am going to keep it!)
