Another log entry in the book.  This is actually my first “official” trip – although I have a very long list of things to do on this trip.  I’m headed to Fair Play, SC to a Thousand Trails campground at the border of Georgia and South Carolina to spend a few weeks cleaning, unpacking, and seeing how the trip goes.  I’m overly thankful that my parents (after letting me “moochdock” at their house for the last few weeks) are making the trip with me!  I need the help getting my vehicle down here!  Leave some comments below and stay tuned for future log entries.

Departure:

  • Date: 07/23/2017
  • Departure City: Charlotte, NC – Parent’s House Driveway
  • Destination City: Fair Play, SC
  • Site Number: Driveway!
  • Wi-fi Signal: Excellent, I built their WiFi!
  • Cell Signal: Verizon – 4/5 bars LTE
  • Purpose: First trip
  • Navigator: Tyler, I don’t need a GPS on this trip yet!
  • Captain: Tyler
  • Guests: Dad
  • Weather: Overcast, 84 Degrees
  • Precipitation: 0%
  • Humidity: 70%
  • Wind: 7 mph
  • Fuel: 41 Gallons – 1/2 tank
  • Starting Odometer: 35,492
  • Ending Odometer: 35,651
  • Generator Hours: 370.2 (generator not currently working)
  • Time of departure:  11:11am
  • Next Destination: Thousand Trails – Carolina Landing, Fair Play, SC

Overall, the drive was very smooth and nice.  We stopped about half way to go to a Pilot station and get some fuel.  My pump stopped at $100, but thankfully that also filled the tank up to give me around 75 gallons of fuel.

Here’s a quick video on the dashcam footage.  I’ll do some actual editing down the road, but for now here’s a sneak peak!
