The Dust Has Settled. Literally. Finally.

There’s a specific kind of guilt that comes from walking past something you love every single day and pretending you don’t see it.
For the better part of however-long-it’s-been, that’s exactly what I did. Cruises happened. Bingos were won. Work travel happened. Family happened – the good kind, the chaotic kind, the kind where you wake up six months later and think wait, when did it become spring? The RV sat. The website sat. The road, presumably, also sat – though roads are generally better at waiting than I am. Well, I’m sure they actually just got some extra potholes since I’ve traveled them!
But here’s the thing about an RV. It doesn’t let you forget it forever. It just… waits. Patiently. Collecting dust and probably a few spiderwebs, silently judging you every time you walk by with your suitcase headed to another airport. And things breaking – ALL the things – and it reminds you the next time you think you’re ready for a trip.
Well. The judging is over. We’re back.
I won’t bury the lede: the rig is dusted off, the route is planned, and by the time you’re reading this – I’m already gone. The road has been reclaimed. The adventure has been re-adventured. Whatever cobwebs of routine had started creeping in? Swept out. The problems, slowly uncovering and figuring it out as I go!
Where am I headed? Oh, we’ll get into that. There’s a whole post for that. What I’ll tell you now is that it involves old friends, new campgrounds, a couple of border crossings, and a wedding. It’s the kind of trip that sounds like I made it up, which is exactly what I love about it.
For now though – this post isn’t really about where. It’s about the feeling of turning that key again after too long away. That specific exhale when the engine catches and you remember: oh right, this is who I am. I literally cannot begin to tell you the feeling – no matter how dirty that windshield is – the view from behind the massive windshield just gives you that special feeling.
This RV Working life hasn’t ended, and it doesn’t end. It just occasionally takes an unscheduled, extended, slightly embarrassing hiatus.
Consider the hiatus officially over. Now – expect some new posts to arrive – expect some photos (I’m really bad at these, you know that!) and expect some shenanigans (haha – just kidding, I don’t have those stories).
In the meantime, sign up for updates so you’ll be notified when I post here (this is my preferred place, but I’ll also try to hit some social media, so follow along). Either way, stay in touch – if you have recommendations on where to go or what to do, I’m all ears.
If you haven’t already – enter your email here, and you’ll get a quick link to verify. Then, anytime I post something you’ll be notified first.
